[CANADA UBER]Required documents
To get started in Vancouver, you'll need to have the following documents to drive or deliver with Uber in British Columbia. Take a photo of each of them and upload them to your Uber account.
1. Driver’s licence

21+ years old
Class 1, 2 or 4 (restricted or unrestricted). Note: The Class 4 restricted licence is the simplest to complete and it meets BC ridesharing requirements.

Delivering with Uber Eats
21 + years old
British Columbia Class 1-5 driver’s licence or equivalent
A driver’s licence is required to deliver with Uber Eats if using a car, but not if delivering using a bike.
2. Proof of work eligibility
Proof of work eligibility
Proof of work eligibility is required for driving and delivering with Uber. Proof of work options include any of the following:
Passport
Residency card
Birth certificate
Citizenship card
Work permit
Delivering with Uber Eats
Proof of work eligibility is required to deliver (car and bike) with Uber Eats. If delivering by bike - the proof of work serves as your photo ID.
If your proof of work does not contain a photo, please include a separate photo ID in the same picture.
3. Owner's Certificate of Insurance and Vehicle Registration

Driving with Uber
Please be sure to include all 4 corners of the full document (including the top half, Owner's Certificate of Insurance and Vehicle License, and the bottom half, Vehicle Registration)
Vehicle must be 9 years or newer
Must have 4 doors and 5 seats
Cannot be rebuilt or salvaged
If you are taking a picture, ensure that it is not blurry and that the license plate number and VIN on the insurance is clearly legible
Note: Uber is currently in discussions with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) regarding the types of insurance coverages and limits Uber will be maintaining on behalf of rideshare drivers operating in British Columbia. See details here.
Delivering with Uber Eats
Vehicle registration and insurance is required to deliver with Uber Eats if using a car but not a bike
Vehicle must be 20 years or newer
Vehicle must be registered in British Columbia

4. Driving Record
Commercial Driving Record
Driving with Uber
Obtain your Commercial Driving Record from ICBC online for free.
If you have less than 3 years of driving experience in BC, but have driven in other provinces, you'll also need to share your driving record from the other province with us.
Once you've received your Commercial Driving Record, upload it to your profile within 30 days.
Requirements:
No more than 3 minor violations in the last 3 years
No major violations in the last 3 years
If you have less than 3 years of driving experience in BC, but have driven in other countries, your foreign abstract will not be accepted
Delivering with Uber Eats
Obtain your Driving Record (abstract) from ICBC online for free.
Once you've received your driving record, upload it to your profile within 30 days.
A Driving Record review is required to deliver with Uber Eats if using a car but not if delivering using a bike.

5. Commercial vehicle inspection report

Driving with Uber
You will need to pass a Commercial Vehicle Inspection at an approved facility. Note: other inspection reports cannot be accepted
Once you have the completed Commercial Vehicle Inspection Report, upload a clear photo of the report to your Uber account—a full photo with all 4 corners.
